Welcome to El Coquí Creations where you can see my various works such as greeting cards, decorative bottles, tote bags, wooden crosses, wall plaques, and luminaries. I draw, paint, stamp, or digitally create each piece of artwork. I also make jewelry with a southwest contemporary flair. I work from my home and I personally do all the artwork displayed.
- Currently, I’m expressing my work with a Día de los Muertos theme. I enjoy expressing my creativity for this festivity because it’s colorful and joyful. Día de los Muertos emphasizes prayer and remembrance of friends and family members who have died and recently now celebrated by more and more people around the world.
- The calaveras are often misunderstood by people who do not know the history of the holiday. The skulls are not intended to be scary, but rather symbolic: The skull represents the death of the body or the passing away of the person, and the decorative designs represent the beauty of their life. I hope you enjoy my expression through the details of each piece made.
